MicroDrive Limitations with CF Adapters

Though MicroDrives and CF Type II are compatible with our CF Adapters, these cards have been found to slightly higher than a standard Type I Compact Flash card. The image below shows a side by side comparison of a MicroDrive and a Compact Flash Type I card. The wedges on each side of the MicroDrive card can fit onto any of our CF connectors, but due to the increased height, hardware modifications will be required to allow the MD card to fit into certain adapters.

Compact Flash Type I - 36.4 x 42.8 x 3.3 mm (W x D x H)
Compact Flash Type II - 36.4 x 42.8 x 5.0 mm (W x D x H)

Model numbers of flash media adapters which are compatible with the MicroDrive (please contact Addonics technical support for the latest information for any cards not under this list):

    • AD44MIDE2CF - Dual CF-IDE Adapter for Notebook (see section one below)
    • ADEB44IDECF - Embedded 44-pin IDE to CF Adapter
    • ADEB44IDE2CF - Embedded Dual CF-IDE Adapter (see section one below)
    • ADEBIDECF - Embedded IDE to CF Adapter
    • ADIDECF & ADIDECFB - IDE to CF Adapter with ivory or black color bay bracket (see section two below)

Limitations

1. The following Dual CF to IDE Adapters are only capable of holding a MicroDrive card in the CF1 position.

AD44MIDE2CF
Dual CF-IDE Adapter for Notebook
ADEB44IDE2CF
Embedded Dual CF-IDE Adapter

2. IDE-CF and SATA-CF Adapters have a PCI bracket mount with an opening which is unable to insert a MicroDrive.
