M2 PCIe SSD Adapter X110

This M2 adapter enables installing a combination of one M2 PCI SSD (or M2 NVMe SSD) and two M2 SATA SSDs into a PCIe 4 lane slot of any Desktop system or server. Designed to accommodate M2 in 42, 60, 80 and 110 mm length, this M2 adapter is a simple economical solution to replace a mechanical hard drive with a low power, shock resistant and high performance Solid State Drive. It is also a great solution to add as many as three high performance M2 SSD via just a single PCIe slot. Once installed, the M2 PCIe and the two M2 SSDs appear as three high-speed solid state drives to the OS. This adapter requires no software driver and can be installed into any Desktop or Server equipment running with any OS.

*Note:

M2 PCIe SSD and M2 SATA SSD are M2 SSDs that use the same connector but different electrical interface. The M2 PCIe SSD communicates via PCIe BUS and the data throughput depends on the speed of the M2 media and the PCIe BUS. A 4-Lane PCIe 1.0 slot has a maximum speed limit of 10 Gbps whereas a 4-Lane PCIe 3.0 slot supports a maximum speed of 40 Gbps.

The M2 SATA SSD communicates via SATA port. The maximum speed depends on the M2 media and the connecting SATA port, which ranges from 1.5 Gbps for SATA 1.0 port to 6 Gbps for SATA 3.0 port.

NVMe SSD installation:

  1. BIOS in some older system may not support NVMe Express. System with UEFI BIOS may be required. Please verify with your system manufacturer to confirm the support of NVMe Express in the PCIe slot.
  2. Software driver is required for installing 2.5" NVMe U.2 SSD. You may contact the SSD manufacturer web site to download the necessary driver for your OS
  • Two (2) M2 (NGFF) SATA SSDs connectors and two mounting poles on top side of the controller
  • Two (2) 7-PIN SATA connector for connecting the two M2 SATA SSDs to two SATA ports
  • 1 M2 (NGFF) PCIe card connector plus one mounting pole on reverse side of the controller
  • Mounting poles can be moved to lock down media in the length of 30, 42, 60, 80 and 110 mm
  • Optional SATA power connector to provide additional power for the high power M2 SSD
  • Power from PCIe slot. When SATA power connector is attached, power to all three SSDs is auto-switched to SATA power instead of PCIe slot. Only 12V is required on either the PCIe slot or the SATA power.
  • Industrial operating Temperature: -40 °C to + 80 °C
  • Operating Humidity: 5% - 95% (non condensing)
  • Storage Temperature: -40 °C to + 85 °C
  • Storage Humidity: 5% - 95%
