Dual Hyper HDD - mSATA SSD hybrid Controller

This Dual Hyper HDD - mSATA SSD bybrid controller is a two port SATA III PCI-e host controller combined with two mSATA (mini SATA) SSD slots. It offers the benefits of high performance of a small capacity mSATA SSD and the low cost and high-capacity of a standard hard drive. The controller can be configured to operate in either hybrid mode or standard mode. In Hybrid mode, the controller enhances the performance of any ordinary SATA hard drive by the faster speed of a mSATA SSD (Solid State Drive). This significantly improves the boot up time of your system as well as the overall read/write performance of the hard drive, great for storage IO intensive applications such as gaming, video editing, CAD/CAM or high performance workstations. Depending on the configuration, up to two hybrid drives or four separate drives consisting of two mSATA SSDs and two hard drives can be connected to a computer. In standard mode, the two connected mSATA SSDs and the SATA hard drives can be set up to operate as four individual drives or combined to form a RAID 0, RAID 1 or combined into a RAID 10 group . The two SATA ports are Port Multiplier compatible and is SATA III compliant with maximum throughput up to 6 Gbps.




When operate in the standard mode, the controller can be used for the following applications:

  1. To connect two M2 SSDs and two SATA hard drives as four separate storage devices to any system via a PCIe slot
  2. The two M2 SSDs and the two SATA hard drives connected to the controller can be combined into two separate RAID 1 or RAID 0 drive volume or as a single RAID10 volume
  • Increase system overall performance by combining a small capacity high performance mini SATA SSD and a low-cost high-capacity hard drive

    • Hybrid Drive (HDD+SSD) mode: Safe Mode (Mirrored Protection) or Capacity Mode (Cost-Optimized)
      Hybrid Drive mode enables 80 percent of the performance of a solid state drive (SSD) on any SATA hard drive at one-third the cost of SSD

*To achieve the maximum throughput, the PCI-Express slot must be version 2.0 or higher. Older system with PCI-Express 1.0 slot will limit the speed to 2.5 Gbps.
