1:9 High Speed HDD/SSD Duplicator PRO (HD9SITDRHS)

About the 1:9 HDD/SSD High Speed (HS) Duplicator Series

The latest Addonics 1:9 HDD/SSD HS Duplicator can copy as many as nine target drives from a single source, making this the ideal solution for production or data distribution applications. Addonics 1:9 HDD/SSD HS duplicator operates totally as a stand-alone and comes with a high speed (HS) controller that ensures consistent fast copying speed onto one or nine targets. There is no computer needed or complex software to operate. Set up is accessed via an LCM control panel on the front of the unit. Once configured, simply insert up to nine hard drives of equal or larger capacity than the master drive into the duplicator, load the master hard drive, lock the drive door and push the start button to start the copying process.

About This Model:

The HD9SITDRHS model High-Speed duplicator allows you to duplicate at the same high performance from one to nine hard drives. It can copy any 3.5" or 2.5" SATA or IDE hard drive to eleven 3.5" or 2.5" SATA or IDE hard drives in any combination. Drives are placed inside the easily removable drive enclosures to be used as a source or target drive. With additional optional IDE drive enclosures, practically any hard drives or SDDs with an IDE or SATA interface in 2.5" or 3.5" form factors can all be mixed into the nine target drive bays to be duplicated at one time. By adding an optional Diamond Cipher drive enclosure, one can easily make backup copies of sensitive data with bullet proof AES-256 bit encryption. The Diamond Cipher Drive enclosure can also be used as a sanitizing tool to turn any used hard drives into brand new drives with no traces of any previous data. This model is the ideal duplicator for organizations with a wide variety of hard drives and needs to migrate OS or data into different storage media, to upgrade systems with same hard drive image or to wipe clean data from used hard drives.

    • Copy from 1 to 9  3.5"/2.5" SATA or IDE hard drives / SSD
    • Source drive and target drive can be SATA or IDE, 2.5" or 3.5" in any mix.
    • Ten SATA drive enclosures and one IDE drive enclosure are included. The drive enclosure can be used as a source or a target drive.
    • Addition IDE drive trays are required in order to copy more than one IDE hard drive
    • Great for cloning hard drives, making back up hard drives, system upgrade or data distribution
    • High performance with minimum performance degradation duplicating from 1 to 9 drive
    • Maximum copying speed ~ 120 MB/sec. Actual speed depends on the performance of the media
    • Drive is added and removed from the source or target bay via either a SATA or IDE drive enclosure
    • Drive can be mounted into the drive enclosure without any special tool
    • Supports duplicating from SATA to IDE or from IDE to SATA hard drive in either 3.5" or 2.5" form factor
    • Drive enclosure is designed to support both 3.5" and 2.5" HDD. For installing 2.5" IDE HDD into Diamond IDE drive enclosure, a 44pin - 40pin IDE connector adapter, part # AA25IDE25, is required
    • Optional 2.5" flash drive kit for duplicating M2 SATA, mSATA, CFast, CF card, slim SATA SSD or 1.8" SATA HDD/SSD
    • Support any type of file format
    • No know drive capacity limitation
    • Copy up to 3.0 Gbps depending on the performance of the hard drive
    • Drive sanitization:
      • SECURE ERASE - HDD duplicator sends a WIPE command to the hard drive. This command fills 00 string to entire HDD
      • OVERWRITE - One pass, 3 passes, and 7 passes 5220.22-M.  The duplicator writes a string of pattern over the entire disk one time, three times or seven times.5220.22-M is the DoD standard for drive sanitization
    • Optional Diamond Cipher drive enclosure (model: DCSACS256) for :
      • Copying data directly onto an AES-256 bit encrypted hard drive for data security
      • As a tool to sanitize used hard drives*
    • LCM control module provides a rich set of robust advanced configuration options (click Full LCD console feature list to see a complete list of this duplicator functions)
    • Operate as a stand-alone appliance. No computer or software needed

* Drive Sanitization via encryption (limited to SATA hard drive only)
The Diamond Cipher drive enclosure can also be used as a drive sanitization equipment for wiping clean of all previous data on a used hard when used in conjunction with any Addonics Duplicator PRO model:

  1. install the hard drive to be sanitized into the Diamond Cipher drive enclosure.
  2. Insert the Diamond Cipher drive enclosure into one of the Diamond target bays
  3. Start the copying process using a blank source drive of equal size in the capacity as the target drive. Data from the source drive is then written onto the hard drive in the Diamond Cipher drive enclosure with AES-256 bit encryption.
  4. Now remove the drive from the Diamond Cipher enclosure. The drive will appear as a brand new drive when installing into any computer with no trace of any data. The drive will have to be initialized, partitioned and formatted.

† The speed here is for reference only. The speed was measured basing on using 3.5" SATA III 250 GB hard drive for both source and targetThe transfer rate varies depending on the speed of the source and destination drive

  • Writing mode: Sector to Sector
  • Maximum copying speed ~ 120 MB/sec. Actual speed depends on the performance of the media

firmware verison 1.61S

Firmware update procedure (Requires one hard drive containing the firmware file):

  1. Create a 50MB HDD partition with FAT/FAT32 or NTFS files system on any SATA hard drive
  2. Download the firmware and unzip the file to .BIN file format
  3. Copy the .BIN file onto the 50 MB partition of the HDD
  4. Insert this drive to the Source slot of the duplicator. For subsystem, connect the drive to the Source SATA port
  5. Select "Firmware Update" function under the "Setup" or "Advanced Setup" menu and press ENT to do the update. To access the "Advanced Setup", hold onto the ESC button for 5 seconds. The new option will appear
  6. Once completed, it will reboot and show you the new firmware version

Please note that some drives may become locked and cannot be initialized after the SECURE ERASE or OVERWRITE. Should this happen, use the following procedures to unlock the drive:

  1. Place drive in the source slot
  2. Execute "PreScan" function for 1 minute
  3. Press "ESC" key until you see "User Abort" on the LCD screen
  4. Now remove the drive from the duplicator and connect it to your system, the HDD should be recognized and be able to initialize again
